Bikol Wikipedia Editing Marathon

Bikol Wikipedia Editing Marathon is a 9-hour editing challenge which aims to increase the number and depth of existing articles in Bikol Wikipedia. Its current number of articles is 5,425.

Five (5) challengers will convene at Canaman Community e-Center in Canaman Municipal Library which will serve as the editing marathon headquarter. More challengers can be accommodated at the venue provided they have their own WiFi-ready laptop computer although every registered user in the world can join the event.

Bikol Wikipedia Editing Marathon will start at 9:00 AM and end at 6:00 PM (+8 GMT) on August 15, 2012.

Real time updates can be followed at Bikol Wikipedia (http://bcl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Espesyal:RecentChanges) and Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/events/256383851138407).

Meals and snacks will be provided to the challengers. Certificate and Wikipedia merchandise will be awarded to the participants.

The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Yves~bclwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.

Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
