Pagladawan
English: The above Spanish-American War-era bolo of the Philippines is generically called as itak, tabak, or sundang.

The bolo has laminated blade. The hilt (handle) is made of carabao horn with an integral copper "S" guard and ferrule. The butt cap is silver, where the tang is peened over.

The peened tang is characteristic of Luzon blades. In Visayan and Sulu-Mindanao blades, the tang usually just reaches up to about half-way the length of the hilt.

Close-up shots of the scabbard wood carvings and the laminated blade are here, here, and here.

The carved wooden scabbard with braided rattan bindings is already deteriorated as can be seen. This bolo's scabbard is unique as typically, Luzon scabbards are made of leather. Visayan and Sulu-Mindanao blades on the other hand use almost always wood for scabbard.

Overall length: 558 mm (22.0 inches); Blade length.: 455 mm (17.9 inches); Maximum blade thickness: 7 mm (1/4 inch); Scabbard length (broken at tip): 393 mm (15.5 inches)
